Micro Loan Program - the success story in Microlending
The Micro Loan Program of the Romanian-American Enterprise Fund encourages and supports Romanian private sector by offering loans of up to $50,000, with flexible collateral requirements, to small and very small companies.
The program has been operational since 1996, developing Romania's first micro lending operations in the country. Its main objective is to serve clients that are not bankable because their businesses are too small and/or they cannot provide suitable collateral. Since inception, the Micro Lending Program has disbursed more than $50 million.
